Where in the world is Britt Baker?

The former AEW Women’s World Champion was out of action for a good majority of 2024 due to injury. But when Baker was revealed as Mercedes Mone’s next challenger for All In, fans were buzzing about the potential feud. It felt like a big time match for the women; sadly though, many felt that the match was underwhelming. Still, people were excited to see what was next for Ms. D.M.D.

Baker disappeared for a bit again as she needed to recover from a strep throat infection. She was originally supposed to face Willow Nightingale for a chance to face Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Title. That match was cancelled, but she came back and fought Serena Deeb and Penelope Ford. Her last match was on Nov. 13.

The 33-year-old disappeared from television again and some fans assumed that their might be some heat on the AEW star following an alleged confrontation with MJF and Alicia Atout backstage in July. Apparently, that’s not the case as Baker has finally revealed why she’s been off of television, and it’s due outside projects.

“I’m filming some fun stuff, can’t wait to tell everybody what it is. It’s on the down low for now but it’s really exciting and it’s cool, it’s really cool. I think people will be really excited about it.” Baker said on DDP’s Gauntlet.

Despite her outside work, Baker says that it’s all apart of her becoming a well-rounded wrestler.

“Yeah definitely, it’s kind of a whole new world. Obviously, our world is very special but we have so much more to learn I think to make yourself more well-rounded pro wrestler, learn as much as you can.

[I’ve] been training more [in] stunts, martial arts just everything I can cause I’m off the road right now. Until I come back, I’m like ‘Let’s cook up on this time off.’”

The former AEW Women’s World Champion never gives a date on when she could return, though it’s safe to assume that it’ll be sometime in 2025. Baker recently had a role in Cobra Kai as Sensei Oksana, the co-sensei of Russian dojo Tiger Strike on episode nine of the final season. She doesn’t go into depth on what she’s filming, but we’ll surely find out soon. Hopefully, Baker's 2025 will allow her character to develop within interesting storylines. Despite being non-existent in 2024, she's still considered one of the top female wrestlers on the roster, so it would be great if she can mix it up with some new faces.
