Last night's WWE WrestleMania Backlash PPV event featured zombie lumberjacks, and AEW's Chris Jericho has now responded by Tweeting that the much-maligned angle "set wrestling back 30 years."

As we reported last night, WWE's WrestleMania Backlash PPV event featured a lumberjack match between The Miz and Damien Priest, with zombies surrounding the ring. After the bout, the undead seemingly "ate" Miz and John Morrison.

It was all a bit of silly fun (was it any more ridiculous than some of the stuff we've seen with The Fiend, for example?) but the angle understandably came in for a lot of backlash (no pun intended) on social media.

Army of the Dead star Dave Bautista responded earlier today, and now AEW star Chris Jericho has weighed in by Tweeting that the zombies "set wrestling back 30 years."

The Demo God is likely referring to some of the utter nonsense that went on in WCW back in the day with mummys and yetis ("it's the yetaaaay!"), but isn't he forgetting about some of the silly shit he's been involved in in All Elite Wrestling? I could have sworn I watched a Super Bowl Half-Time match in which a man teleported out of an ice box...

What did you guys make of the zombies? Do you think Jericho is being a little hypocritical? Drop us a comment down below.

I hate when WWE does stuff like this because it’s silly. How can you take a make match seriously when you have Zombies around the ring. I don’t agree with the whole magic and Alexa Bliss and Fiend crap.
