The first all-women WWE PLE was held in 2018 with Evolution. Now, seven years later, we're finally getting Evolution 2 this Sunday. It's been a long time coming, though some have argued that it's too little, too late.
Hailing from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, the show begins at 7pm ET, 4pm PT and will stream exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix internationally (in the UK, the show will begin at 12am BST).
WWE started the build late, largely because it had Night of Champions and Saturday Night's Main Event to promote. Still, Evolution 2 boasts a stacked card, and here's how it currently looks heading into the weekend:
WWE Women's World Championship Match
Iyo Sky (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
WWE Women's Championship Match
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Trish Stratus
WWE NXT Women's Championship Match
Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Match
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. The Kabuki Warriors vs. Zaria and Sol Ruca
Battle Royal (Winner Gets A World Championship Match At WWE Clash in Paris)
Nia Jax vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Nikki Bella vs. Ivy Nile vs. Natalya vs. Maxxine Dupri vs. TBA
No Holds Barred Match
Jade Cargill vs. Naomi
We'd imagine a Women's United States Championship match will be added to the card during SmackDown, as it would be very strange not to feature Giulia at the event, given her obvious popularity with fans.
The Four Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone, changed WWE's women's division forever when they were called up to the main roster. In a piece for The Players Tribune, Flair shared her belief that they will one day get the Fatal 4 Way match we never saw in the company.
"The thing about the Horsewomen is — we never even did The Match. Me vs. Mercedes vs. Becky vs. Bayley, on the main roster, is still to this day probably the biggest-money women's wrestling match that you could book," she wrote. "Yet we're all still so intertwined with each other's careers, it just speaks to the uniqueness of our impact, and our connection."
"It speaks to the way that, while there have always been cool stories to tell within the Horsewomen, the coolest story has always been the one of the Horsewomen."
"I have a different, perfect chemistry with each of them — and if I wrote about them individually, I'd be writing forever," Flair continued. "So instead I'll just say this one thing, that is very meaningful for me, and that will always tie them together in my heart as a trio: I grew up in wrestling because of my dad. I got into wrestling because of my brother. But I fell in love with wrestling because of the Horsewomen."
"I fell in love with wrestling because I fell in love with Becky, Bayley and Mercedes as wrestlers. And nothing will ever change that."
