Rumours persist that CM Punk is heading to AEW, and while nothing has been confirmed yet, it would be shocking for it not to happen at this stage.
Recently, we spoke to Paul "Big Show" Wight to get his thoughts on the possibility of Punk and Daniel Bryan becoming "All Elite," but Chris Jericho recently shared his thoughts on that too. The two clashed many times in WWE, though there were once rumours of heat between the two after Y2J invited the Best in the World to appear on his podcast following his departure.
After comparing Punk to AEW talents like Sting and Christian (who have been away from wrestling for a few years before making their return), Jericho talked about how well the company is doing and the difference the one-time longest-reigning WWE Champion would - or wouldn't - have.
"Honestly, really don’t know. It’s something that I know nothing about. Obviously, it’s intriguing and I’ll be watching along with everybody else to see what happens," he said. "But we’ve got great momentum without Punk and we’ll have great momentum continuing without him, and great momentum with him if he shows up."
"So either way, I think we’ve built ourselves up into a great position right now."
There's no denying that. AEW's momentum is on the rise and the tide appears to be turning in their favour. However, should Punk join the company, that could be the biggest blow to WWE yet.
