It's not in WWE as "Edge and Christian", but Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have reunited as a tag team on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Cope was in action against Stokely Hathaway in a match that was set up specifically for The Rated-R Superstar to either allow Cope to get his hands on Big Stoke through a loophole from their restraining order not protecting him along with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, or alternatively to lure FTR into a trap where they would break that themselves and render it no longer active.

As anticipated, FTR did interfere, and in the post-bell brawl, Christian Cage ran out with "spike" (a spiked board weapon) to fend off FTR and help save Copeland. Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian then tried to attack Cage, who fought alongside Cope to take them out, too.

After a moment of tension, Cope and Cage finally hugged it out, and it was later announced that Forbidden Door has another tag team match added to the lineup as Edge and Christian will team up for the first time in 14 years (with their last match taking place in 2011) against Wayne and Sabian.

Here is the current lineup for the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door card:

  • Lights Out Steel Cage Match: Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) vs. The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta), Gabe Kidd, and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)
  • Adam Copeland & Christian Cage vs. Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian
  • Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) (c) vs. TBD [FTR or Brodido]
  • Singles Match for the AEW Unified Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Swerve Strickland
  • Singles Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Athena
  • Four-Way Match for the AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Alex Windsor (AEW) vs. TBD (CMLL) vs. TBD (Stardom)
  • Singles Match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. TBD from AEW
  • Singles Match for the AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi
