Mark Briscoe’s mission statement for 2025 is revealed.
Mark Briscoe had a solid 2024. The AEW/ROH star beat Eddie Kingston at Supercard of Honor to win the ROH World title for the first time of his career. He managed to keep the belt for 201 days; successfully defending the title against top names such as Roderick Strong, The Beast Mortos, Kyle Fletcher, and Chris Jericho. Though he would lose to Jericho in a rematch, Briscoe got a chance to stand out in the Continental Classic later that year.
Briscoe’s 2024 standings were the complete opposite of 2023, as the 40-year-old got huge victories over Kyle Fletcher and TNT Champion Daniel Garcia. He lost his chance at becoming a TNT Champion, but that doesn’t mean his aspirations for holding the belt are done.
We’re into 2025 and Mark Briscoe spoke about his desires in AEW with Justin Dhillon on Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic and he highlights wanting to win gold in AEW:
"I wanted to win some AEW gold. I mean, whether that's singles gold, whether that's six-man, I want to win some AEW gold. That's one of the first things I said when I got here. I said, 'I smell gold in them there hills.' I won the Ring of Honor World Title. That's one of the top accomplishments of my whole career, and I'm not at all slighting the Ring of Honor World Championship, not at all, because I'd be happy to get another shot there. But I want some AEW gold, man. Whether I got the conglomerate with a couple of my boys and get [Trios] Titles, whether I get another shot at the TNT, do I get a shot at the International, or I get a shot at the big boy. You know what I mean? I just want some gold."
Will Mark Briscoe win some gold? He has a shot in the Eliminator tournament as Mark Briscoe is one of the eight participants fighting for an opportunity to challenge Kenny Omega for the International Championship at Dynasty. The former ROH World Champion is scheduled to face Mark Davis in the first round.
