Eric Bischoff was calling the shots at WCW both at the company's best and worst, but no one can take away the fact he managed to beat WWE during the Monday Night Wars for 83 weeks.
These days, the WWE Hall of Famer is in the podcast game and frequently shares his take on the state of professional wrestling today. That includes his thoughts on AEW President Tony Khan, and he recently cited a "lack of leadership [and] lack of professionalism" as the executive's biggest failings.
"[It's] manifested by somebody [who] is talking to these outside news sites," Bischoff says. "This is internal business. This should be dealt with internally and it's not. There are too many people talking outside of the office. This is in my opinion proprietary confidential information that shouldn't be shared with anybody."
"It's literally the inmates running the asylum at this point and the entire company looks like a giant clown car filled with juvenile unprofessional self-absorbed children."
"Not all of them obviously, I don't want to cast such a broad net, but I've never seen anything like this before," Bischoff continued. "Could you imagine if Tony Khan would have been able to buy WWE? You can't manage a clown car at this point."
As someone who was in charge of WCW when Hulk Hogan and the rest of the nWo were throwing their weight around, Bischoff knows all about the inmates running the asylum! He then went on to share his belief Khan's "self-destructing" behaviour is slowly killing AEW.
Between continued reports of backstage issues, repeated social media clashes, and even Cash Wheeler's recent arrest, it's true AEW could do with stronger leadership. However, the company is also finding a great deal of success, with AEW All In at London's Wembley Stadium a good example of that.
