Lance Archer is the new No. 1 contender for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship after winning the Casino Battle Royal at All Out last night.
The Muderhawk Monster was always one of the favorites heading into the match along with Brian Cage, but since The Machine already had a shot at Jon Moxley's title, Archer always seemed more likely to come out with the victory. Lance dominated from the start, eliminating close to 10 other wrestlers over the course of the 21-man bout.
In the end, it came down to Archer and Eddie Kingston, with Jake Roberts capitalizing on The King's fear of snakes to ensure his protege was the last man standing in the ring.
The match was also notable for the AEW debut of Matt Sydal, who botched a shooting star press before even entering the ring.
Archer will now get a future shot at the AEW title, and although it hasn't been made official yet, Full Gear seems the most likely time and place.
