Former Universal Champion Braun Strowman was among those released by WWE earlier this month, and the surprise surrounding WWE's decision has yet to subside.
The Monster Among Men was on a huge $1.2 million a year contract and pushed as a top star in the company; clearly, he was viewed as a main eventer (at this year's WrestleMania, he squared off with Shane McMahon in one of the show's top matches). However, when it came time to save money, it seems Vince McMahon decided that Strowman wasn't worth keeping around.
Now, speculation is running rampant about Strowman's in-ring future and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry - who played a key role in bringing Strowman to WWE - has hinted that there's already been chatter about bringing the former strongman to All Elite Wrestling.
"Super high on my list," he responds in the video below asked about Strowman's future. "It’s not an all Mark Henry decision, but there’s already interest on both sides. So hopefully, by the time he’s allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature. But right now there’s interest on both sides."
Adding Strowman to the AEW roster would be a smart move on the company's part, but with a roster made up primarily of smaller wrestlers, booking the former WWE Superstar could be a challenge for them. Expect to hear more about Strowman's future at the end of the summer.
