Matt Hardy took a scary bump during his Broken Rules match (Last Man Standing, essentially) against Sammy Guevara last night at AEW All Out, and the company has come in for a lot of criticism for allowing the bout to restart.

Both men had only just begun trading shots when they climbed a ladder, and Sammy tackled Hardy from the top to the table waiting below. They overshot, however, and Matt ended up striking the concrete with the back of his head. He managed to beat the 10 count and get to his feet, but he was very unsteady and it was apparent that something was wrong.

Referee Aubrey Edwards through up the crossed arms to stop the match, but after only a couple of minutes Hardy pursued Sammy out to the arena and the bout was restarted. They then climbed another structure, and Hardy sent Guevara crashing through the stage, winning the match.

It's clear that Matt wanted to get to the finish because the stipulation stated that if he lost, he'd have to leave AEW. That's all well and good, but the safety of the performers is paramount, and many feel doctors should have stepped in and forced him to back out.

Hardy was reportedly taken to hospital to be checked out immediately after the match, so we'll update you guys on his condition asap.
