Mercedes Mone is tired of fans tearing down her AEW run.

The former WWE star’s run isn't going as well as many have hoped. Mercedes Mone has had some great matches in her stint so far, but the general consensus seems to be that people just aren’t a fan of her AEW run. Some blame Tony Khan for the way he’s booked the 32-year-old. Eric Bischoff notably called Mone’s run a disaster because of the way Tony has booked her.

"Mercedes Mone is not old, she's relatively young, she was a massive star in WWE, massive, and she came to AEW and it's been an unmitigated disaster because of her creative and because Tony doesn't know how to produce her," Bischoff said on 83 Weeks podcast. "In WWE she was protected because people understood what her strengths were, but more importantly, understood what her weakness were and they produced her accordingly."

Others have blamed Mone herself as some fans feel that she isn’t living up to the standard that she set in WWE. In fact, many view her AEW stint so far as a downgrade. The TBS Champion caught wind of this post and responded tired of fans trashing her:

“I just saw someone say, ‘Downgrade has to be studied.’ Bitch. I am richer than I’ve ever [frick]ing been, putting on the greatest matches that I’ve ever had, so shut the fu- I hate stupid people. I hate stupid people. I’m living my best life, the greatest life ever. It’s an upgrade baby, I went forward and I didn’t go back. It’s the best feeling ever to be rich in spirit, rich in your bank account, and just rich in life. It’s the best.”

Mone is fresh off a big win over Anna Jay for the TBS title on the Holiday Bash Dynamite special. It appears that Kris Statlander will challenge Mone for the prestigious belt once again, though a date has yet to be set for the rematch. There’s no denying that Mone’s run has been a controversial one from a fan’s perspective.

She came in hot and reportedly signed a seven figure deal, making her the highest paid female performer on the roster. Mercedes Mone is less than a year in since her debut so perhaps she can change people's minds in the months to follow if she's given a great story and pulls through in her performances from this point on.
