The man formerly known as Rusev had his first official match for AEW this past Wednesday on Dynamite, and it turns out the sloppiness of the bout may not have been down to Joey Janella's awfulness alone!

According to Bryan Alvarez on the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Miro actually tweaked his ankle at some point during the tag team bout, but decided to continue on and eventually locked in his Camel Clutch on Sonny Kiss to pick up the win for his team.

"When he got hurt the match just totally fell apart. He’s dropping people. He’s trying to launch people and they’re falling on their heads. It was bad. I mean, risking your life for your art? What I was told was he tweaked it, and it felt better. I don’t know what he did, but allegedly it was legitimate, but it felt better and he’s fine."

The match was a bit of a mess and a few spots were clearly botched, but these kind of things do tend to happen when Joey Janella is involved so most assumed that was the main issue.

From the sounds of things Miro's ankle won't keep him out of action for long, so we should see him back on TV as Kip Sabian's Twitch-streaming dork of a best man in no time.
