As we mentioned earlier this week, the original plan for Karrion Kross on RAW was for him to lose a second time in a row to Jeff Hardy. However, after the Charismatic Enigma tested positive for COVID-19, the NXT Champion ended up defeating Keith Lee in short order.
Now, thanks to Mat Men Pro Wrestling's Andrew Zarian, we have more details on how WWE planned to book Kross and why Scarlett still hasn't been called up to the main roster.
"Karrion Kross was supposed to lose again to Jeff Hardy in the rematch and then finally go berserk," he explains. "I’m not 100 percent on this but I was told that the plan was that Karrion Kross keeps losing until Scarlett shows up and that’s gonna bring him back on track because she is able to unleash the warrior, whatever they’re calling him, the gladiator in him."
"When I spoke to somebody over there they were like ‘Yeah. I don’t understand why people are freaking out on the internet, it’s leading to something. Why don’t people understand, we’re telling a story, the match doesn’t matter, the story matters.’ Those aren’t my words, I don’t agree that he should be losing but I also agree that sometimes we should let things play out."
That's an interesting note about Scarlett, while Zarian makes some interesting points about letting the storyline play out. Ultimately, it still seems dumb to have Kross booked that way, though if we are getting Scarlett on the main roster sooner rather than later...well, we won't be complaining!
Hopefully, plans for Kross become clearer on RAW this Monday, though we're unlikely to see Hardy on the show as he should be quarantining at home for at least two weeks after his positive test.
