Can you believe that Orange Cassidy and Hangman Page never had a match?
Tony Khan has changed that. The AEW President confirmed that Cassidy and Page will go one-on-one this Wednesday following their explosive four-way match at World’s End.
This match isn’t as random as it seems since the former International Champion said he was coming after Page in an exclusive interview after losing a world title match for the second time.
“I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know why I’m here. Whatever I’ve been doing has not been working. But…I’m going to keep showing up and find whatever it is I’m missing, and this Wednesday on Dynamite, I should probably start with Hangman.”
What issues does Cassidy have with Page? Both men never saw eye to eye throughout the build of World’s End, though they did have one common enemy - Jon Moxley. Now that the AEW World Champion is moving on to Adam Copeland and FTR, the stage is set for Cassidy and Page to resolve whatever issues that they have with one another.
But that isn’t the only new match on the card.
The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are scheduled to finally take on The Acclaimed. The former AEW World Tag Team Champions have had issues lately. The duo has been suffering because of miscommunication, with the latest being Max Caster costing Anthony Bowens his match against Chris Jericho on Rampage by blasting his tag team partner with the ROH World title. Bowens and Caster will be facing two former multi-time champions; can the duo get there act together in time to pull off an upset victory?
Fight for the Fallen is quickly shaping up as the show will be headlined with the return of Adam Copeland, who’s wrestling for the first time since Double or Nothing. He’s joining FTR to take on Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.
That isn’t the only return on the card.
Julia Hart is also coming back from injury to face former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter. The former TBS Champion had a series of vignettes targeting Hayter; she attacked the 29-year-old following her match against Willow Nightingale on the Winter is Coming edition of Collision.
Below is the advertised line-up for the Fight for the Fallen special on Wednesday:
- FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) & Adam Copeland vs. The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli)
- Julia Hart vs. Jamie Hayter
- Orange Cassidy vs. Hangman Page
