Who’s ready for a four hour AEW Summer Blockbuster special!
On a combined episode of Dynamite and Collision, the match that will headline this show is the 2024 Forbidden Door rematch between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay. Adam “Hangman” Page won the right to earn an AEW World title opportunity at All In, but Swerve isn’t particularly happy about.
That’s because Hangman has spent the last couple of years trying to stop Swerve from being a world champion. Swerve and Hangman have destroyed each other, and when it seemed that there was going to be a turn around, the former AEW World Champion isn’t onboard with Hangman getting that title shot at All In.
Will Ospreay is playing peacemaker between Swerve and Hangman; The former International Champion understands what’s at stake on July 12 and desperately wants Swerve to be on the same page as him and Hangman. Tonight’s match isn’t about titles, it’s about the future of AEW and where all three men will stand once the dust settles. What will happen once Swerve and Ospreay collide one more time?
Speaking of All In, Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega will finally make their title vs. title match official with a contract signing. The Continental and International Champion have a storied rivalry between one another. It started in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, but escalated into the AEW landscape when Okada helped the Young Bucks beat down the former AEW World Champion. Will Okada and Kenny be able to sign their contracts peacefully? Or will their emotions spiral out of control and end with a huge brawl?
Thekla hopes to continue her dominant run in AEW as she’ll be facing Queen Aminata. Though the latter has yet to win a title in the company, Queen Aminata has been a nice addition to the roster thanks to her strong performance against several of the top women in AEW. Will Queen Aminata stop the unhinged spider in her tracks? Or will Thekla continue to prove that there’s a winning method to her madness?
