The issues between CM Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Adam Page) have been well-publicised, but the Best in the World's recent remarks about Page after AEW Collision has caused the entire situation to once again rear its ugly head.
While Punk and The Elite are largely being kept apart in AEW, separation has done little to build bridges between the two sides after that infamous press conference and the subsequent backstage fight which has been dubbed "Brawl Out."
According to Fightful Select, "Punk claims to people that he talks to that he still wants to sit down with Hangman Page, Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, but they refuse."
It sounds like Page, in particular, is trying to keep out of it but that became easier said than done thanks to the now-viral promo Punk cut on his old foe after AEW Collision went off the air.
While there are those who "believe Punk is trying to work himself into an angle," Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez claim he texted Page after the show to apologise for his remarks. It appears they were meant as a joke, but Punk misjudged the situation and realised he'd done wrong after the fact.
This all comes after reports Punk was involved in an altercation with Ryan Nemeth after he previously shared his support for The Elite on social media. Once again, it feels like certain "journalists" who are friendly with members of The Elite are doing anything and everything possible to bury and discredit Punk.
However, we're hearing he's receiving positive feedback for his role behind the scenes of AEW Collision and has emerged as a leader in the locker room and for the show itself. Needless to say, that's not something a certain 5*-loving historian will like hearing!
AEW Collision airs on TNT every Saturday evening.
