AEW has confirmed a #1 contender’s match this Wednesday.

The promotion has announced that Darby Allin will face Jimmy Havoc, with the winner getting an opportunity to challenge Chris Jericho for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship on October 16, 2019.

Allin and Havoc have a brief history in AEW, as the two men tag teamed together at Fight for the Fallen and ultimately came out on the losing end. The two competitors – along with Joey Janela – got into a scuffle about losing the respective match and settled their differences in a wild Triple Threat match at All Out. Havoc would get the win over Janela in the pay-per-view bout that highlighted the hardcore style of all three men.

This week’s episode is a stacked show with Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara set to take on Dustin Rhodes & Adam “Hangman” Page, Jon Moxley returning to fight Shawn Spears, and Private Party facing The Young Bucks in the first-round of the AEW Tag Team tournament.

Check out the confirmed line-up below:

Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Hangman Page & Dustin Rhodes

Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc (winner challenges for Jericho’s AEW World title on next week’s episode of Dynamite)

The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) in an AEW Tag Team title tournament first-round match

Jon Moxley vs. Shawn Spears
