All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing PPV ended with a surprise appearance from Jon Moxley (a.k.a. Dean Ambrose) but a top star from IMPACT Wrestling also very nearly showed up. Who? well, according to PW Insider, IMPACT Champion Brian Cage was in the building.

He was backstage at the show all day and prepared to wrestle before being told by IMPACT officials who learned about his presence there that he could not appear.

It's a little odd that they would avoid having him show up as it might have brought more eyes to their product but they're more than likely well aware that AEW will dethrone IMPACT as the world's second biggest wrestling company when it launches later this year and don't want to do anything to help them in any way.

Chances are Cage was booked for the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show that aired on social media and it's worth noting that Tommy Dreamer, who is part of IMPACT's creative team did compete in that.

Are you disappointed that Cage didn't appear?
