AEW Executive Vice Presidents The Young Bucks did an interview with Chris Van Vliet, and the former IWGP Tag Team Champions pretty much confirmed what many knew in regards to their relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling, stating that the company hates them, according to Nick Jackson.

Both Bucks worked with New Japan for 5 plus years; however, Matt & Nick Jackson revealed in a Bleacher report interview that they didn’t feel appreciated in the Japanese company and had both New Japan and Ring of Honor given them better deals, then the tag team would’ve happily remained in the independent promotions.

Here’s what the AEW Executive Vice Presidents had to say about WWE's view on AEW as competition, which eventually has Nick blurt out the New Japan hates them too (transcript courtesy of Fightful.com):

Nick: They [WWE] hate us, I think.

Matt: Why wouldn’t they? We’re disrupting everything.

Nick: New Japan hates us too.

Matt: I think everybody looks at AEW as competition because we’re this new thing. People are afraid of the unknown. They’re like ‘who are these guys’ and every day you see a new headline about something we’re doing. It’s intimidating. People are fearful of change, I get it.

Nick: We’re gonna stay that way. We’re gonna be the alternative and we really do mean it. We want to be different from every other company that you see. I feel like the first 2 shows that we’ve done, we’ve given a different type of shoe every time we’ve done it.
