Back in April, former multi-time X-Division Champion Amazing Red announced that he was walking away from the ring due to a set of injuries finally getting the best of him.

It was clear in the retirement video that the former TNA/Impact Wrestling star didn’t want to retire in this matter; however, Red has been working in the business for nearly 20-years and with his style of wrestling, the wear and tear clearly got the best of him. However, the former X-Division champion may return for one more match, and it’s seems to be against IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay.

It all started during the finals of this year’s NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 26 when Amazing Red tweeted his reaction to the final match between Will Ospreay and Shingo Takagi.

Following the match, Ospreay saw Amazing Red’s comments and responded with a challenge based on Red’s last sentence about still not having his “last match”.

The former X-Division Champion responded by telling the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion to give him some time heal. A couple days later, Red posted a video showcasing his return to the gym to train for his bout against Ospreay.

There’s no word on when the match is supposed to happen; however, there’s no doubt that this will be a fantastic match if it does take place.
