Add Awesome Kong’s name to the list of entrants for the 21-woman battle royale at All Out.
The AEW star recently did an interview with the
New York Post and confirmed that she will be fighting for a chance to become the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion on August 31
st:
"I like records. (Laughs) I like breaking molds. I love making history and what not, so this is putting another notch on my belt, so to speak. Who wouldn’t want that?"
This will officially be Kong’s second match with the promotion since Double or Nothing. AEW seemed to tease a match-up between the former TNA/Impact Knockouts Champion against Aja Kong at Fight for the Fallen when the two female talents had a stare down; however, it doesn’t appear that will be happening any time soon.
Thus far, the company has only confirmed 11 names for the battle royale, so expect a couple of surprise names to enter the women’s bout this Saturday. This is just pure speculation; however, Brandi did state that there would be some surprise talents popping up in the match.
