Awesome Kong Wasn't Sure Fans Would Remember Her At ALL ELITE WRESTLING's DOUBLE OR NOTHING

Awesome Kong was known as Kharma in WWE and is, of course, Kia Stevens in the acting world (where she frequently steals the show in Netflix's GLOW). Now, she's commented on her surprise return at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing PPV and reveals that she was worried about getting a muted response when she appeared on stage.

That was far from the truth, of course, and she was instead met with a thunderous reaction from those in attendance.

"Oh my gosh, it was overwhelming. I really didn’t think people would remember me. We were in Vegas for a new promotion called AEW which will be on TNT in October, and it’s kind of like this new rebel company of all the people who’ve been disgruntled by Vincent K. McMahon … But yeah, when I came out, it was at the MGM Grand, the arena there, the whole place shook and went insane and I almost had to break character and go, ‘Oh my God, you remember me? Oh my God it’s so awesome’ but I had people to destroy. It was overwhelming. I trended for hours on Twitter. The whole situation blew up so I thought it was gonna be a one time thing but it looks like it may not be."

It's going to be fun seeing where things go next for Kong now she's part of All Elite Wrestling, especially after WWE wasted the formidable female wrestler. It was clear from Double or Nothing that there are big plans in store for her and there's a good chance she'll soon rule over the women's division.

What are you guys hoping to see from Awesome Kong in AEW?
