Could we see new NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions on Oct. 7?

That’s certainly a possibility as NJPW has confirmed that Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tomoaki Honma and YOSHI-HASHI will be the next three men to challenge Togi Makabe, Ryusuke Taguchi and Toru Yano for the belts.

The match-up was made after the challengers defeated the champions on October 4 at the New Japan Road show in Takaoka. Hiroshi Tanahashi is no stranger to holding the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team belts, as he’s previously won the straps on three separate occasions; however, with different tag partners.

Makabe, Taguchi, Yano have held the belts since late January, defeating the Bullet Club to win the titles for the first time together. Can the trio be successful in their fourth title defense on Monday? We’ll surely find out!
