Fans of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor are ecstatic about the upcoming G1 Supercard Madison Square Garden show on April 6th,even though the event has yet to advertise any matches.

Well, according to Dave Meltzer, there’s one match that could possibly main event the huge super show, which will see the current IWGP Heavyweight champion Hiroshi Tanahashi face one of his greatest rivals ever, Kazuchika Okada.

“I don’t think it’s official or anything. When I was in Japan that was what everybody was saying but I don’t know if that was more rumor and what would make sense. It’s kind of like if you don’t have Omega in the main event then you have to have Tanahashi and Okada.”

IWGP Intercontinental champion Tetsuya Naito was discussed as someone who could have the main event spot as well. Chris Jericho’s name came up in the discussion too.

The last time Okada and Tanahashi squared off in the ring was back on September 23rd, when the IWGP Heavyweight champion successful held onto his contract by defeating the former Heavyweight champion.
