Going into the bout, the dynamic between SANADA and EVIL was surely the intrigue between the two Los Ingobernables de Japon members.
Both athletes knew each other very well and that knowledge was displayed throughout the bout, as the contest was a very competitive back-and-forth counter fest between the New Japan talents. SANADA needed the momentum as EVIL was coming off a huge win over former NEVER Openweight Champion Kota Ibushi, whereas the former lost his G1 match-up to IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay.
In the end, EVIL was able to catch SANADA with his finisher around the 19-minute mark. Both competitors shook hands after the bout was said and done. EVIL’s G1 Climax record currently stands at 2-1, whereas SANADA’s score is now 1-2.
