Former IWGP Intercontinental Champion Kota Ibushi isn’t having the best start in the G1 Climax thus far. The story that’s being told is that ever since his loss to Tetsuya Naito back at Dominion in June, Ibushi has been struggling to regain serious momentum ever since.

The former NEVER Openweight Champion walked into the bout winless, as did EVIL, as both men lost their respective outings at the Opening of the G1 Climax in Dallas, Texas.

As with the other match-ups in the tournament, the two styles of Ibushi and EVIL meshed well together with several strong nearfalls from both competitors. However, EVIL would pull off the win by connecting with his finisher. With this win, EVIL is now 1-1, whereas Kota Ibushi is 0-2 thanks to his loss.
