Ever since the match-up between PAC and Adam Page was scrapped from the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, many have wondered what the future lies between the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and AEW.

It’s been reported by various news sources including Dave Meltzer that the issue regarding PAC and AEW stems from Dragon Gate not wanting their top champion to lose. PAC is currently the Open the Dream Gate Champion, and the indie promotion will reportedly give PAC a lengthy title reign. Word is that AEW doesn’t have an issue with the former WWE star, and speaking with comicbook.com, Cody reinforces that PAC is still in good standing with the all-new promotion (transcript courtesy of wrestletalk.com):

“It’s kind of a current, ongoing situation in terms of creative differences. It’s the term we use, it’s not everyone’s favorite term to hear. But I love PAC, he’s amazing. He’s done a great job post-WWE with what he’s done with Dragon Gate, what he’s done with Rev Pro. And really the only thing I can say about it, because it is an ongoing situation, is that PAC is still part of AEW. It’s something we’re actively working on and making it happen. He’s a big part of AEW.”

There’s no word on when Dragon Gate is planning to have PAC drop the title; however, it remains good news that Cody and company continue to ensure fans that the former WWE superstar is still apart of the all-new promotion.
