Former multi-time IWGP Heavyweight champion Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to make his return very soon!

During New Japan's Wrestling Dontaku event, Tanahashi addressed the crowd and revealed that he will be returning to the squared circle on June 5th at the Best of Super Juniors Final. His opponent for the event may have been confirmed as well, as Jay White interrupted Tanhashi and told him that he was next in line for the IWGP Heavyweight championship.

The Bullet Club leader was the man who put a quick end to Tanahashi’s recent IWGP Heavyweight title reign at The New Beginning show back in February, and White made sure that “The Ace” didn’t forget that fact. The former IWGP Heavyweight champion then attacked Tanahashi, targeting the surgically repaired elbow.

Tanahashi has been out of action since the ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard show with an elbow injury. “The Ace” underwent successful surgery in April and was discharged from the hospital on Apr. 21.
