Former boxer Anthony Ogogo is now all elite.
AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes announced at the Southside Wrestling event that the former professional and Olympic boxer has signed with the promotion. After the announcement was made, MJF stepped into the ring and taunted Ogogo; however, the 23-year-old was met with a punch that he would never forget:
Starting in 2013, Ogogo had his first pro boxing fight under Golden Boy Promotions. The 30-year-old also competed in the Summer Olympics the year prior, winning the bronze medal as a middleweight. Ogogo went undefeated for three years until his bout against Craig Cunningham, which he suffered a devastating knockout loss. Since his bout with Cunningham, Ogogo had problems with his vision and went through two operations on his left eye.
After staying out of the ring for three years, the pro boxer finally confirmed his retirement in March 2019 due to the eye injuries that caused him problems throughout the years. The England native retired with a record of 11 wins and only 1 loss.
