Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella will be making his debut for Bloodsport in September.

The former WWE Superstar made his in-ring return back in July 2019 at a Battle Arts Academy show, which is his professional wrestling and MMA training school.

Since his release from the company in 2016 – which was due to injuries - Anthony Carelli has been mainly training the future stars of tomorrow. The former Intercontinental Champion did have a brief stint in Impact Wrestling; however, he only served as a manager to one of his students. Marella made a brief appearance back at the RAW Reunion show last month.

Carelli does have a background in mixed martial arts with his experience mainly in Judo. His only recorded mma fight was a loss to Takashi Ishino in 2004. His opponent for the event has yet to be determined. The show is scheduled for Sept. 14 and will be headlined by Josh Barnett taking on Jon Moxley.
