The man formerly known as Tye Dillinger will make his way to Double or Nothing this Saturday; AEW announced the news on their social media account that the former Dillinger – who goes by Shawn Spears now – will be in the Casino Battle Royale.
The news of Spears ending up in AEW isn’t much of a surprise as the former WWE superstar is good friends with Cody. In addition to that, Spears did an interview with Justin Barrasso of
Sports Illustrated and stated outright that he was going to the new promotion because he believes in what Cody and The Bucks are doing.
Spears was in WWE for nearly a decade and ultimately decided it was time to leave the company due to being fed up with the way he was being booked. WWE granted his release in Feburary, several days after he went public on the situation. Here's the updated match card for the May 25th show:
