The bout started out slow with Goto putting in a headlock; however, that wouldn’t last long and both Ishii and the former NEVER Openweight Champion would exchange shoulder tackles until Ishii went down.

Not surprisingly, the match-up then became a strike fest between Goto and Ishii, with numerous chops, lariats, and suplexes exchanged by both men. Goto would connect with a spinning heel kick and belly to back suplex for the bout’s first nearfall.

Goto’s momentum didn't last too long, as Ishii came back with a powerbomb for a nearfall. The counterfest between the CHAOS members continued until Goto hit a sit out GTR. The former NEVER Openweight Champion then hit the GTR again and got the three count.

Hirooki Goto’s G1 Climax tournament score is now 3-3 (6 points), whereas Tomohiro Ishii’s record falls to 3-3 (6 points).
