In the main event of day 11, former IWGP Tag Team Champion EVIL battled former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi.

In the early portion of the bout, EVIL gained control due to targeting the knee of Tanahashi. Once the 2018 G1 Climax winner got the upper hand on the Los Ingobernables de Japon member, Tanahashi went after EVIL’s knee as well.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion’s veteran in-ring skills would come through when it came to pulling off reversals and counters; however, EVIL would nail a devastating lariat for a strong nearfall.

EVIL would go for his finisher, Everything Is Evil, but Tanahashi countered the maneuver. In the end, Tanahashi nailed a High Fly Flow for the three count within 24 minutes. Hiroshi Tanahashi’s score in the G1 Climax is 3-3 (6 points), whereas EVIL’s record is 3-3 (6 points).
