The Ricky Starks World Tour continues!

The former World Tag Team Champion may not be returning to AEW anytime soon, but the 34-year-old is making sure that he’s getting back into the squared circle in 2025. Starks was confirmed for the upcoming House of Glory Wrestling show where he’ll fight Charles Mason at their Final Warning event on Saturday, January 25th. The show will take place in the NYC Arena in New York City, and will air live on TrillerTV+.

This will be the first time that Starks wrestles for House of Glory. The indie promotion was founded in 2012 and has featured plenty of ex WWE and AEW stars including Kevin Steen (aka Kevin Owens), Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, Private Party, and Brian Cage. The current House of Glory World Heavyweight Champion is Mike Santana.

Starks return to the independent scene is a contrast to his comments about running around the indie circuit on Chris Van Vliet. The AEW star didn’t take any indie bookings for a good portion of 2024 because he felt that would be going backwards if did;

“Everyone says, ‘You should have taken indie bookings anytime you wanted.’ But that’s not what I wanted. It wasn’t necessarily about just going to the indies. There’s nothing wrong with the indies—I love the indies. But I guess I’m on a journey where, when you’re climbing the stairs and you’re just going up, having to come back down is kinda jarring. I’m so hyperfocused on my goals and how my life is planning out that figuring it all out has been a challenge.”

Starks did say that if he went back on the indie’s then it would be because he wants to. Though he’s been off AEW television for nearly a year now, Tony Khan is still paying Starks, so the AEW star likely misses being a part of the wrestling scene and wants to get back into it since his future in AEW is in the air. Starks' contract is expected to end mid 2025, and it’s been reported that WWE’s very interested in the former AEW World Tag Team Champion. At this point, it would be shocking if Starks returned to AEW television, though never say never in the world of professional wrestling.
