One of the most anticipated matches at Wrestle Kingdom 13 is set to open the huge event.

According to NJPW Announcer Chris Charlton, Wrestle Kingdom 13's main card will open with NEVER Openweight Champion Kota Ibushi vs. Will Ospreay.

Ospreay is a former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion; Should the high flyer win at Wrestle Kingdom then it will be his first reign as NEVER Openweight champion.

The match was set up after Ibushi captured the title by defeating Goto after a Kamigoye. This is Ibushi’s first singles title since the IWGP Junior Heavyweight championship in 2014. Ospreay then challenged the new champion at New Japan’s biggest show, with Ibushi immediately accepting.

This match will no doubt get NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 off to a hot start. The show is set for this Friday January 4th at 2am.
