Speculation was rampant on whether All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling would be working together in the future.

Cody, The Young Bucks, Adam “Hangman” Page, and Kenny Omega all worked Wrestle Kingdom 13 last Friday; however, each man ended up losing their matches. It gave a strong indication that The Elite members were done with the company, especially since none of the members appeared at New Year’s Dash.

Officials from ROH, NJPW, and AEW held a meeting before Wrestle Kingdom 13 to discuss the possibility of collaborating and allowing their talent to wrestle for different brands.

However, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that at the moment, NJPW is not planning on working with AEW, meaning AEW stars will not be able to wrestle for the Japanese promotion.

He reports that AEW were very keen on having a working relationship with New Japan, but that any negotiation has, for the time being, been unsuccessful.
