The match-up began with Jay White stalling by rolling in and out of the ring. Eventually, Naito pushed Gedo into the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and beatdown White on the outside before putting him back in the ring. A short time later, The Bullet Club leader would get the advantage by moving out of the way of a charging Naito. White then viciously returns the favor by beating down the IWGP Intercontinental Champion.
After a brief period of White being in control, Naito connected with a hurracarana after exchanging punches with the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Naito continued to bring the fight to White, nailing a dropkick and several neckbreakers that resulted in a nearfall.
White would eventually mount his own comeback, and the two men went back-and-forth by exchanging various wrestling maneuvers. Not surpringly, Gedo tried to interfere; however, Naito kicked him right in the nuts. Naito then continued his attack on White by connecting with Gloria, which got him a strong nearfall. White would fight back by hitting suplexes and then nailed a Kiwi Krusher that almost resulted in the win.
After connecting with Destino that resulted in a two count, Naito attempted to hit his finisher again, but White reverses with a sleeper suplex. In the end, White hit a Blade Runner, which got him the three count. Jay White now moves onto the finals of the 2019 G1 Climax tournament, as he’s set to face the A-Block winner, Kota Ibushi.
