The story of the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion making a strong comeback after a 0-3 start continues, as Jay White gave Jon Moxley his first pinfall singles loss in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The match-up started off chaotic, as Moxley attacked White from the beginning and beat the Bullet Club member around the arena. Not surprisingly, Gedo would provide enough distraction for White to get the advantage. White tried to keep the bout technical, but Moxley made sure that the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion got an ass whooping that he would never forget.
White kicked out of the Death Rider while Moxley was able to withstand a low blow and a punch with brass knuckles from Gedo. The match-up almost came to a close when the IWGP US Champion nailed a lariat and a knee that got him a strong nearfall. Moxley then set up his finisher, but went to knock Gedo off the apron instead.
White would capitalize on the distraction and in Jon Moxley’s signature style, he flipped off the former Bullet Club leader before White put him away with the Blade Runner. Jay White’s G1 Climax score is now 4-3 (8 points), whereas Jon Moxley’s record has fallen to 5-2 (10 points).
