The match took a while to get going due to both men playing the waiting game and taunting each other. White would then go after Taichi’s valet and the former NEVER Openweight Champion did the same with Gedo.

Both competitors would end up brawling at ringside and tossed each other into the barricade. White and Taichi would end up back in the ring, but the two New Japan stars ended up exchanging fists again; however, Taichi would win the strike fest this time.

The match-up would see both men try to out cheat one another, with Gedo and Miho Abe’s (Taichi’s valet) interfering consistently on both competitor’s behalf. The match boiled down to White trying to take advantage of a distracted Taichi; however, the former NEVER Openweight Champion countered with a nice kick to the head.

Taichi would attempt a superkick, but the Bullet Club leader would counter with a sleeper suplex. After that, White connected with a devastating brainbuster, and then hit Blade Runner and got the three count.

Jay White’s G1 Climax score is now 3-3 (6 points), whereas Taichi’s record falls down to 2-4 (4 points).
