The match-up started with the referee pulling out a bunch of tape rolls from Yano’s trunks. In the midst of the confusion, the former IWGP Tag Team Champion got a roll up that resulted in a near fall. The contest continued on with Yano’s antics, such as removing the turnbuckle; however, the move ultimately back fired as Cobb whipped him into the exposed steel and then connected with a belly to belly suplex.

The CHAOS member came back with his own belly to belly suplex, but Cobb recovers nicely with a vicious clothesline. After getting another near fall thanks to a standing moonsault, Yano tried to hit a low blow, but the former NEVER Openweight Champion connected with a superkick instead.

Cobb then hit Yano with a Tour Of The Islands and got the three count.

Jeff Cobb’s final G1 Climax tournament score is 4-5 (8 points) and Toru Yano’s record for the competition is 4-5 (8 points) as well.
