Josh Barnett will finally get his chance to fight Jon Moxley at Bloodsport III.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion was originally set to face the IWGP US Champion on September 14; however, Moxley was forced to back out of the event due to an MRSA infection in his elbow. The current AEW star promised that the match-up would eventually happen someday.

Barnett went on to fight Chris Dickinson at the Bloodsport II show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with the former UFC star winning the bout via knockout. Now, Barnett will bring back Bloodsport during the WrestleMania 36 weekend in Tampa, FL on April 2.

Thus far, it’s the only match confirmed for the annual event; however, more announcements will be made in the upcoming weeks. Bloodsport has also featured talents such as Killer Kross, Anthony Carelli, Simon Grimm, Tom Lawlor, Davey Boy Smith Jr, Frank Mir., and Timothy Thatcher in the past, though there’s no word on who could potentially end up on the match-card this year.
