Like Kota Ibushi, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi hasn’t had the best luck in the G1 Climax Tournament thus far. Tanahashi’s winless streak increased to 0-2 thanks to his recent loss against former WWE Superstar KENTA, who’s been tearing it up in the G1 Climax thus far.
KENTA has been showcasing why he was deemed one of the best wrestlers in the world at one point, as the main event match-up between the New Japan stars was a 50/50 bout with KENTA pulling out the GTS to get the win. After the match was said and done, the former WWE superstar offered his hand to Tanahashi, who didn’t accept due to being disappointed with his loss against New Japan’s newest star.
Thanks to his win over the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, KENTA ties the early goings of the tournament with Kazuchika Okada and Lance Archer with a record of 2-0.
