The former three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion made a huge statement on Saturday night, as Lance Archer pulled off the shocking victory by defeating current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay.

Ospreay was coming off his success from not only winning the 2019 Best of the Super Juniors tournament, but capturing the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship from Dragon Lee at Dominion.

It appeared that “The Aerial Assassin” would carry his momentum on as Ospreay brought the fight to Archer with his highflying arsenal; however, Archer was able to catch the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion off guard and connected with his Blackout finisher from the middle rope. The Texas native then applied an iron claw and scored the pinfall.
