During a New Japan Pro Wrestling press conference earlier today, Jushin "Thunder" Liger announced that he intends to retire from wrestling.

Believe it or not, the charismatic performer is now 54 and he confirmed that his final bout will take place at
Wrestle Kingdom 14 on January 4th, 2020. That gives us a little less than a year to continue enjoying his work and it will be interesting learning who his opponent winds up being.

Outside of his career in Japan, Liger made a number of appearances in WCW and wrestled in a single WWE match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015 when he squared off against Tyler Breeze in one heck of a contest.

As always, we'll keep you guys updated on Liger's status as we learn more.
