Unfortunately, Lucha Libre legend Perro Aguayo has passed away. The events surrounding his death are currently unknown.
The Mexican superstar was a pioneer for Lucha Libre wrestling, as Aguayo made his debut in the business in 1979 in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Throughout his time in the promotion, Aguayo was one of the top headliners in the light heavyweight division. He even competed in the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship tournament to crown the inaugural champion (back when WWF had an alliance with NJPW).
After dominating the Light heavyweight scene for over ten years, Aguayo moved over to CMLL/EMLL to join Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The promotion would be his main stay until Aguayo decided to retire in 2001. He was inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame in 2012.
