Ivelisse is currently in the midst of a class action lawsuit against Lucha Underground.
The LU star has voiced her frustration with the company for not releasing her from her seven-season contract, despite the fact that LU officials reportedly told talent during a meeting that they would grant them their release upon request last year. Being a major player in Lucha Underground has restricted Ivelisse’s options in terms of going to other promotions, so it’s a bit surprising to hear that she was primed for a return to Impact Wrestling until plans were cancelled for unknown reasons.
Ivelisse spoke to
Fightful recently and confirmed the story that she was set to make way to Impact in 2018 and states she has no clue why it was just dropped:
"With that, I was supposed to come back last year at some point," said Ivelisse.
"I have no explanation as to what happened. Literally the night before there was a change of course. Not any details. I was supposed to come back and have this program and it was changed. That was a really frustrating situation and moment for me. As you can see, the only other place we could go was Impact, and that's where everyone was going. That one last thing to be able to try to survive under Lucha Underground was taken away from me at that moment. That's when I was like 'let's figure this out.'"
Lucha Underground hasn't filmed since March of 2018 and there has been no word on whether a fifth season will be done, which has prompted several wrestlers to file a class action lawsuit against them.
You can see Ivelisse take on NWA World Women's Champion Jazz at Ladies Night Out 5, which takes place February 23 from the World Gym Arena in Texas City, Texas for Reality of Wrestling. You can get tickets at their
website, and can stream the entire event live and on demand at
Title Match Wrestling Network.
