Max the Impaler’s dominant reign officially came to an end.

On the most recent episode of NWA Powerrr, Max the Impaler took on Carson Drake and it seemed as if the NWA World Television Champion would secure another victory with ease. However, despite Carson being a slimy character, the NWA star is a solid wrestler that was able to hold his own during the second half of the match.

It seemed that Max was in trouble for a brief minute and Jim Mitchell tried to intervene. Max tried to distract Carson, but he moved out of the way. Max was able to stop before the former NWA World Television Champion hit Mitchell, but Carson took advantage of that distraction with a roll-up pin that got the three count.

This is Carson Drake's first title reign in the NWA.

Max The Impaler held the title for 278 days. The former NWA World Television Champion originally won the NWA World Women’s title at the 75th Anniversary show. On the February 13th episode of Powerrr, Max defeated Mims to unify the NWA Women’s and Men’s World Television championship.

The NWA star was on a dominant tear before the shocking loss, beating Jake Dumas and Mr Grim to retain the prestigious title. Max and Carson Drake first met on the October 5th episode of NWA Powerrr, but their first encounter ended in a time limit Draw.

NWA had been building a break up between Mitchell and Max for some time now. That became official when the former NWA World Television Champion knocked Mitchell’s head off after the surprising three count. It’s always possible that Max will get a rematch for the World TV title, or her attack on James Mitchell is a set up for another long term feud outside of the prestigious belt. Either way, it’s an exciting change for the NWA landscape!

The promotion has their upcoming live-event on December 14th. The show is loaded with several high profile matches such as Knox and Murdoch (Mike Knox and Trevor Murdoch) (c) vs. Daisy Kill and Talos for the NWA World Tag Team titles, Kenzie Paige (c) vs. "HollyHood" Haley J for the NWA World Women’s Championship and a historic steel cage match between Natalia Markova and Tiffany Nieves.
