National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone will continue fighting in Major League Wrestling.
The promotion confirmed that the Dynasty member is the latest MLW star to re-sign a multi-year agreement with the company, though the exact details of his contract remain unknown:
During an interview regarding his recent signing, the MLW National Openweight Champion revealed his reasoning for inking a new deal with the promotion, explaining that he wants to create a legacy and that MLW is giving him a chance to so:
“I don’t want to just make money and retire. I want to create a legacy. MLW has given me that platform,” said Alex Hammerstone. “Not only that, I still have a lot to do in this company. I still have a lot of goals. If you haven’t noticed someone has that World Heavyweight Championship and it ain’t me and that just don’t sit right.”
Hammerstone continued, “I have a platform here at MLW to explore everything I can to do and test myself against the best out there and that’s what it’s important to me. I want to thank everyone out there and hope you follow me on this journey.”
The 29-year-old made his debut with the company back in early 2019 and would go on to join The Dynasty (with original members Richard Holliday and MJF) to feud with The Hart Dynasty. Since then, Hammerstone became the inaugural MLW National Openweight Champion at the company’s Fury Road tapings by beating Brian Pillman Jr., and has successfully defended the title against Laredo Kid, T-Hawk, Aero Star, and Davey Boy Smith Jr.
