The annual G1 Climax is arguably the biggest and most popular tournament for the promotion, so it's no surprise that the company is looking to go big for the competition. New Japan has confirmed that Kazuchika Okada, Jay White, Kota Ibushi, and Tetsuya Naito will be part of the opening for the G1 Climax in Dallas on July 6th.

This will be the first time that the G1 Climax will take place in the United States as the tournament will be held under a round-robin style, with the winners of block A and block B facing off in the finals to determine the G1 Climax winner.

Last year’s winner, Hiroshi Tanahashi, is currently dealing with an elbow injury and at the moment, there’s no word on whether the former IWGP Heavyweight champion will be competing again this year. The G1 Climax kicks off Saturday, July 6 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.
