New Japan Pro Wrestling is coming off a hot start in 2019, first with Wrestle Kingdom 13, then New Years Dash, and finally the crossover event, Fantasticamania.

During these three events, new champions were crowned and new challengers stepped up, which will seemingly culminate at NJPW’s New Beginning event. The show will take place in Sapporo on February 2 and 3, then in Osaka on February 11.

The promotion has now released a hype video spotlighting two matches for the event. The first is the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight championship match between Taiji Ishimori and Ryusuke Taguchi.

In another championship bout, newly appointed Bullet Club leader Jay White will challenge Hioroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP title. White has been on a roll as of late, shocking many when he defeated Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 13 and the former IWGP United States champion made his intentions for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship clear.
